Last Friday, Jeremy and I had dinner with our future godparents, Mr. and Mrs. Galen Seles and Jeremy's parents, Jeff and Jan in Belltown to talk about their duties for the wedding.
In filipino tradition, the Godparents are family members or very close friends who attest to the readiness of a couple for marriage. They are chosen to be involved in the ceremony because of the bride and groom's admiration and respect for them. Their participation is a tremendous honor and symbolic of the wisdom and support they shall offer the new couple.
